2.0 hdi antipollution fault

#1: 2.0 hdi antipollution fault Author: stickman, Location: Port Talbot PostPosted: Wed May 22, 2013 9:28 am

Hello all

the last few weeks ive had quite a few anti pollution problems with my 2003 206.

the car would over run when i turn the engine off, and while its ticking over it shudders a little and sounds quite lumpy, the fault comes and goes all the time but i noticed when the engine over runs alot the fault will pop back up the next time i turn off the car, and when i do the car will not rev over 2000 and its a struggle to get the car upto speed, i turn it off again and the fault on the dash still pops up but i can then rev the car as normal.

the only things i can think of are

EGR Valve
Anti Shudder valve
Vacuum Pump

or have i missed anything?

Thanks

I'm sure you got the EML light on,so a Fault code will be best solution in your case, but when you start it in the morning,do you find it hard to run,or run smoothly?

i will be getting the fault codes read soon, in the mornings it will either take a while to start and then sound really rough but other mornings it will start up fine and run smoothly. so its a strange problem that me and my old man cant figure out for the life of us. we initially thought that because the HP fuel pump was leaking air was getting into the system and causing it to start rough in the morning, but we have since fixed that but the problem still occurs.
