hi can anyone help.
it started with miss fire, had it on computer.it had trouble to read it then when it did it came up with a problem with the ecu and the bsi.
we changed the injector, coil pack
new ecu and I sent the bsi away to be fixed.
put it all back reprogramed the ecu and bsi but the car wont start.

Sounds like an immobiliser issue? What does the car do when you try to start it?

Is it a new ECU or a second hand one?

Did you program a new immo chip to the ECU?

Also the year of the car might be useful.

The ECU and Bsi have to be matched otherwise the car wont start.

And you changed the ECU?! Seriously?!

Programming ECU/BSI for matching is a nightmare and can only be done once. Shocked

Your best route of action would be to get a ECU/BSI +key 2nd hand from eBay and install those as a set. You might then have to tweak the parameters a bit to suit the spec of your car, but that is much more straightforward.

Hi v9977
We tried a second hand ecu and bsi. It started the car but the air bag light came on and the speedo wont work.
Ecu could not find the abs to read speed. Thats why the air bag light because it carnt read how fast the car is going.
Thats why we got a new ecu.

Was the ECU and BSI from the same vehicle or two different ones?

It is quite likely that you have to modify the parameters in the ECU and BSI accordingly to match the spec of the car. So if for example the donor car (were the set came from) did not have some of the features or had different settings for those features, the control units do not opperate properly.

In this case the best bet is to drive the car to a near-by Peugeot dealer with access to the PSA server and perform 'automatic configuration' based on the VIN of the vehicle. This is much safer and more likely to work, than messing around trying different settings with a clone interface.

Assuming the ECU is the correct version replacement, the BSI is preety standard so it should not be a problem.

While it's plugged-in at the dealer's it would be worth updating the ECU & BSI firmware (software download and flashing) which should be at no extra charge.

'Hope you sort it.

Hi v9977
Is that psa server the same as peugeot planet software?

Hi,

The Peugeot Planet software runs usually on a laptop in conjunction with an interface which plugs into the car.
On their own, they can perform almost all functions that a dealer can, appart from ECU/BSI software version updates and 'automatic configuration' mentioned above.

These require an actual dealership which goes on-line with the Planet setup and communicates with the PSA server directly whilist performing these opperations. You need to be subscribed for this service otherwise the server will not talk to Planet.

So, yes it would need a visit to the dealer with the gear, account, and technician trained for the job.

However it's worth double-checking everything on here first to make sure you don't waste a booking.

Also, you might be able to manually configure it which does not require server connection and therefore can be done with just the Planet software (PP2000).
