Driveshafts?

How are driveshafts going to cause wheel wobble..? :S

Zack, check your discs..? might be warped.

Ill have a look tomorrow jack car up put it in gear take wheel off tho yea?

Cheers

Just jack it up, no need to put it in gear, take wheel off, turn the wheel do the calipers pointing inward and spin the disc so you can see the edge and check if there's and side to side movement.

Ok thanks Smile could it be control arms if not that?

cheers

Na wouldn't cause wheel wobble. Have you checked the bolts are all done up correct lengths etc. I've had problems in the past with after market wheels and spacers where bolts have been a tad to long, you think you've tightened them up but it's that tiny bit thats causing you to have wheel wobble.

Ok well ill have everything off tomorrow wheel and spacers check then discs and clean everything thank you Smile

Just to clarify, is this an actual visible wobble on the wheel or just something you can feel through the steering wheel, like a vibration?

If you can see it, then something is either loose or bent. Narrows the possible causes down.

The drive shafts could be the cause as when people replace the boot they use a huge hose clip which sends it off balance due to the big lump on one side. If it does have hose clips put a proper drive shaft boot tie on or stainless cable tie, a regular cable tie should do it if you haven't got any metal ones.

Had this problem, after suspecting out-of-balance wheels / warped brake disk / wheel bearing, this forum helped to identify the cause: it was a buckled/warped wheel hub (the symptom was: strong steering wheel vibration when braking at high speeds).

You could see the wheel wobble:

And the brake disk wobbles too (see gap between brake pads and disk):

Problem gone once new wheel hub fitted:

Hope this helps in your tests
