I think to make this swap work your going to have to strip the saxo of all it's looms, dials, etc and install them in the 206. The multiplexed system is not going to work with your non plexed saxo engine. It may be better to rethink this altogether unless you have the time. I hope you do get it sorted though.

Why don't people do research before fiddling with things they obviously know sod all about.

From the pics I would say this is a wildly different setup. I don't know much about engine swaps myself, but would strongly recommend you get in-touch with an experienced auto-elec on this one. He might well sort you out painlesly in the end.

the only big issue i have is the ecu as from swapping sensors around and a few other things ive managed to get the 1.1 loom to fit the vtr engine but there are also a few plugs that the 1.1 loom doesnt have that the vtr does :/ its all gone tits up with this swap might just sack it off all together and pick up a 1.8 or 2.0 from a guy i know! :L

Have a look at this even if you sorted the engine ECU you would still have problems, your better off getting a 1.6 16v from a 206, not a saxo

Is it an 8 valve Saxo engine? Why not just throw it in the car running on all the original engine sensors????

I don't think there ever was a 8 valve multiplexed 1.6 fitted to the 206.

He's probably doing this because he cant insure a GTi so wants to pop the 1.6 8v lump in and not say anything to them and keep it 1.1 insurance

What happens about possible medical costs to other party involved? (touch-wood)

Would be the same as being in an incident with an uninsured driver.

NHS pay just like they would in an insured accident, so in the long run, the rest of us pay for it in National Insurance contributions.

I've never heard of an insurance company reimbursing the NHS for treatment given at the scene or the aftercare. The ambulance service used to charge for attending, which could be claimed back through the insurance, but not even sure if they still charge or not.
