#1: Ste's 206 - Mods in 2013 Author: Ste, Location: Hull -or- The World Of Info Code PostPosted: Tue Jul 02, 2013 3:00 pm
    ----
I do have an old thread here - www.206info.co.uk/Foru...art=0.html

But It's easer to start a new one for this years work..

I've had a long ever lasting Project with my car for 4 years now, however this came to an abrupt end the other day when someone smashed into her and drove off (I wasnt in my car at the time, she was parked up outside)

So she went from this

To this

My very rare Genuine Black Masked Valeo’s also got destroyed

I stripped all the damaged parts and started sourcing replacement panels

The new panels were sourced, New bumper, bumper trim, two sports wings, sport liners, and a front grille

Then I had to decide WHAT to actually do, just rebuild the car to what it was, what everyone knew and had seen before, or totally mix things up and build her as a new start.. I chose the latter option and started playing on Photoshop with various colours.. I settled for this

So once I knew the car was going to be white, I had a few options, pay for it to be sprayed, spray it myself (As most of the silver was my spray work), or wrap her, I decided again, the latter option, wrapping it is.
I ordered all the materials in and started work on prepping the new wings as they had abit of wear and rust on them

And the wrapping started

Time to get the front of the car built back up Very Happy

The new lights were sourced which means I could get her back on the road and around to RazpulseDJ’s house to use his garage to start wrapping the rear quarts with his help as these were wayyy too big for me to work on on my own.

I returned the following evening after work and we cracked on with side number 2!

A cheeky daylight shot

I did a 500 mile trip and upon arrival back home I was met with this...

Abit of touching up and we're back in business - as it's the underside I dont really care about the cut line, you cant see it unless you look for it..

Fuel cap was next up for the white stuff!

Oh hai Wink

DEDICATION HIT IN! Wrapping the door in the dark Razz

And the next day...

Work still carries on...

- 18/05/2013

So today, the car decided to hit me in the balls agian, another pot of money is getting thrown at her again and she'll live to see another day..

Firstly I decided it was time for a new battery as mine had started to fail quite often..

Then I left her to run and get upto temp to give her a little run on the drive, and well it didnt go too well, all was good after connecting the battery, she started first time, everything working normally, temp was raising normally, so I went in for a cuppa..

I then went outside and well, I was met with a wall of steam! Yep, the Rad has blown lol, she's going to the garage on Tuesday for a new clutch, clutch cable, and bearings so while she's there I'll get a nice shiny new Rad fitted too! DEEP POCKETS TIME Y0!

- 23/05/2013

And she's back!

Full new clutch as my release bearing had seized up and started to eat away at the pressure plate forks so the whole lot was changed, and also a full new radiator.

Total bill £312

- 01/06/2013

Todays progress..

Sprayed the whole boot shut, boot, inside of boot, upper boot and spoiler Smile

The car is now getting de-wrapped and fully plastidipped instead as the finish is slightly better and the final outcome is alot cleaner and allows easier finishing of door shuts ect..

Thanks mate. No need to be jealous Wink we're all equal here, we buy, mod and enjoy our cars. In my eyes, we're all equals.

I've lost track mate due to also spending on new parts, ect ect, I've spent about £2.5k on her this year so far though but without digging out all the receipts again I have no idea what the sprays cost me upto date.

Any chance you can share a supplier? Car looks awesome mate, are you using any kind of primer first or is it just straight on with rattle cans? You don't see many nice white 206's, I've always loved Jords.

I'll have to dig the paperwork out mate as it was some random ebay listing earlier this year I got the sprays from, to which the said ebay account is now closed, possibly end of business as I remember I got it for quite a good price at the time

Fair enough, had a look on a few sites, looking at £7ish per 400ml Aerosol can, look like you are using cans? Defiantly considering this considering how awesome yours looks! Good job Wink
