#1: Won't start Author: Tommy29, Posted: Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:16 pm ---- My girlfriends 2005 1.1 won't start. All electrics work on the ignition but I've always known a car to tick if its the battery when starting it. It turns over for about 2 seconds and then it dies.

I would try battery for start, then check the earth lead.
This was my problem, my earth strap had broken.
So its always worth a check.
