Hello Again

My 1.1 has developed a fairly severe coolant leak about 50ml a miute, and i have to top it up with water twice a day. It appears to be coming from the water pump tho im not sure. It was changed with the canmbelt just 2 months ago using this kit...

Ive checked the pipe that goes from the resovoir to the engine and that seems ok. Anyone got any clues?

Did you Put any sort of sealant on the pump when it was reattached?

Check all pipe work including matrix for leaks.
Check both water cap and engine oil filler cap for milky residue.
If residue then chances are blown head u/l.
Other than that check radiator / matrix radiator for any signs of leakage.
That's an awful lot of water to be losing. G/L

there's no creamy residue on the oil cap or the dipstick. My instinct is that its the O ring for the waterpump. I paid a guy £80 to do the cambelt, waterpump and aux belt just 2 months ago. Dont you need to take all that off to get at the waterpump? Is there anywhere that does Strong O rings?

There is nothing wrong with a genuine Peugeot / Citroen supplied part.

Go to a main dealer & buy the O ring from there.

It turned out the new waterpump that was put in just 6 weeks ago had failed and was not just the 'O' ring but the seal in the waterpump itself. Another £60 spent. New problem now is the left indicator staying on constantly i.e. not clicking. i can only turn it off by removing a fuse? is it the relay?
