How do I know if its 8v or 16v

It's an 8 valve.

1 extra camshaft, 8 extra valves, VVT & all for a poxy 15 bhp increase Laughing

& before you ask NO the 16 valve version wont fit your car as it was only available on multiplexed 206's & your's is non plexed.
