#1: 2.0 HDI immobiliser fault showing+ central locking stopped Author: 7speed, Location: staffordshire PostPosted: Sun Sep 01, 2013 4:38 pm
    ----
hi to all,
my 206 2.0 hdi is showing immobiliser fault on the dash, also at the same time my key with 2 buttons failed to open or close the doors,
and when the drivers door is locked manually with the key the other doors
don't lock with it, oh and one more thing to add is the car picture icon for the heater controls stays illuminated without the key being in the car.
i did change the key fob battery as advised, even though the old one was showing 3 volt.
the engine turns over but won"t fire, and the fuel pump primes,
(all fuses checked).
the car has never failed for several year's until now.
this all started after returning to the car of which i left my hazard lights on with the car unlocked for 10 -15 mins. & took the key with me.
this is my first post, so iv'e gave as much info. as possible,
if anyone out there can help me, it would be greatly appreciated,
THANKS FOR READING.

try the safe reboot ,if it didn't work, they you need a new key chip, and reprogramme the key using the PP2000,and of course you need the 4 digits card to do this.

Where abouts are you? There's a map of people on here with Peugeot planet 2000 (dealer diagnostics) that will be able to read your faults. It sounds like your immobiliser ring isn't recognizing your transponder chip in your key at a guess. Not sure why this would happen from what you did. Open the steering column cover (t20 iirc) make sure all connections are ok around the ring and make sure the chips still in the key.
Hope you get this sorted.

Sounds like a flat or low battery to me. Try charging the battery first.

yeah, car battery fully charged ,also checked the steering column ring and connections and made sure the chips still in the key followed by a few bsi safe reboots.
When i did the reboots following the correct procedure the first turn of the key did not bring up the immobiliser fault like before which made me think i"d cured it, but soon as i cranked the engine it showed up
again,so that's where i am.
PS. Iv"e now figured out, (I think ) how to use the message replies,
Thanks.

Here's an update on my 206,
I towed it to a recommended garage about 4 weeks ago, and they've told me it's
The engine fuel pump causing the immobiliser faults to show up on the dash and are trying to get me a second hand pump ;
When I was told this I mentioned that a few month's ago that a fuel forcourt attendant had
Put petrol in the car instead of deisel and that day I just managed to get the car home (engine spluttering).
The filling station immediately sent out their fuel assist company to drain it+ fit a new fuel filter+ fuel.
The garage where the car is being repaired told me the petrol could be a possible cause,
Can anyone shed a light on this,
Thanks for reading

Yes,
The Anti pollution was showing before it broke down.

When you filled up, how much diesel was in the tank, and how much petrol did you put in.
I presume the mechanics have asked you this.

Also did the fuel assist company fill the tank 3 quarter fill say.

And finally how many miles has the car done from the petrol episode, upto the immobilliser fault.

The fuel reserve light was on, so quite low,
Ten pounds worth of petrol was put in, before I struggled to drive 18 miles back home totally unaware of the petrol until I checked my fuel receipt
Fuel assist refilled to half a tank,
Mileage after the fuel assist was approximately 20 miles for the first 2 weeks locally,
Not exceeding 30 miles per hour,
Then I went on holiday in it and covered over 400 miles with no problems,
It actually broke down the day afterI got back home

Hi 7speed, the information you give suggests to me the pump should be ok, to the fact you have done 400 miles as well.
I would concentrate on the AC unit being illuminated, when the ignition is off, problem.

Could be the ecu is playing up

Wonder if you have a bad earth at the battery end.

Thanks For Your Reply,
Very interesting point about the AC. iluminated,
However Iv'e just got back from the garage and they want the radio code,
as the other fuel pump is now fitted and ready,
I assume he means the transponder pin code on a small card which has been
in my log book folder for years, and "hey presto" its dissapeared,
ANY HELP ON GETTING ANOTHER PIN ??,
Thanks
