#1: Air Noise when brakes released Author: aidan117, Location: Portsmouth, UKPosted: Mon Oct 07, 2013 6:34 am ---- Hi Guys,
Gotta little problem on my 52 plate 1.1 it started about a week ago when i noticed when i released the brakes i heard a kind of air noise coming from the footwell of passenger side, sometimes it lasts when accelerating but only for a few secs before fading out. But the noise stops completely when pressing the brake pedal but does it again when the brake pedal is released doesn't happen all the time but most times.
Any ideas on what it is and if its expensive to fix?
Cheers

Don't think it's normal to hiss unless you push the pedal with the engine off so it could be the pipe from the engine or an internal seal ...

engine/key off, pump the pedal till it goes hard, then holding the brake pedal gently turn the engine on it should slowly fall to normal braking position
also when it hisses if it stops,or stops then starts again when u tap the pedal its definately the servo
