#1: ARB levels.....is this normal? Author: Triggerfish, Posted: Sat Oct 12, 2013 11:33 am ---- When the car sits on the ground normally, on four wheels.....Is the ARB (anti roll bar) level all round? or should it be angled?
ie. Is the ARB level all around where the end piece joints onto the drop link is at the same height of the ARB bushes?
The problems is I have always noticed that my car ARB is angled downwards towards the front end.....???
Advice anyone?

I wonder if the shocks had been frozen at a fixed level.....and just two days ago, it just fell lower into the rightful level.....is that even possible?

I have also seen some videos on youtube showing a 206, while on its 4 wheels, it does show that the ARB is in fact level!! Someone else on this site also noted it is level on my other thread earlier......yet, I've had the car some 6 years now and as far as I know, it has always been angled downwards!!.....approx 30 degrees.
Am interested on what other members say about this.....is your 206 ARB level or angled?

Can't be sure, I think it has been changed some 3 years ago, not 100% sure tbh.

The more I think about this, the more I think the ARB should be in fact level.....and not angled.
Being angled means the control arm is angled too, the bushes are constantly put under pressure downwards. This would limit the life of the control arm bushes itself.
Being level means the control arm is also level and the bushes has no pressure. So it absorbs/allows the differences on the road bumps.
So as the ARB is linked to the drop link, it is therefore connected to the shock absorber/springs itself which is acting a downward pressure to absorb the road bumps. So the only conclusion from this is the shocks were putting more pressure downwards than normal hence the ARB were angled downwards. The shocks must have been frozen at a certain level.

The drop link measure at 340mm. (13.5 inches)
Please note, 2 days ago, the ARB was level!!.....hence am asking here.....what is normal?

yea, crawling underneath isn't even required, you just pop your head down in front of the parked car and you can see very clearly the ARB level. If it is not level, the ARB will be poking downwards but it is not....so far anyway from those I have seen.
The reason is because my car's ARB had always been poking downwards as far as I know (for some 6 years) and a few days ago, when I was driving, I noticed the car suddenly dropped downwards and now my car's ARB is level......As far as I can see here, no one can answer the question with conviction on what is normal?.....2 people have said it is angled (no images/proof provided) and some are saying it is level, even my own eyes based on Youtube and recent 3 cars.....and is it safe for me to use my car? or does anyone knows what the problem actually is?

So ARB should be level, which it is now, after the sudden drop.
So what do you think on the recent drop?.....sticky shocks?
So if the ARB is now at the right level which is level, would that not mean the shocks are still ok then?.....is there anything to test the shocks? There are no cracks on the drop link itself.
