I know I am gonna sound like a dumb blonde but I cant get the old gear knob off my car. Ive youtubed it and done everything it said...lifted the gator, taken off the cable tie and now the thing should just pull up......but it wont?
Am I doing something wrong?
There may be a HOW TO on here but I cant find it...

Twist in through 90 degrees and pull .. can't remember which way though, think it was left, but it will only go one way!

1 foot on passenger seat 1 foot on drivers seat, stand over it, PULL!!!

Difficult bit will be when it either leaves the sleeve or it doesn't, sods law says it will be the opposite to what you need.

Take the gear knob cap off, working from the top cut down with an hacksaw, just watching you don't cut into the white plastic underneath.

Well I finally done it......lots of brute force and bruised knuckles...but the old gearknob is off and the shiny new one is on.

Now is there any way of adding a piccy on here without having to upload to photobucket first...or can anyone tell me another photo storage link that will work on here as my photobucket storage is at its limit.

Find a really dirty girl, they'll know how to tug a knob, lol.

Get some pliers and a zip tie, release gaitor housing, cut the zip tie around the leather, then turn it clockwise and it should screw off... That's how mine worked.. Just keep spinning it til it won't go anymore then pull:) didn't seem to be a too hard of a job to get off

Mine was a flippin nightmare and I have a bruised/cut hand to prove it. It was NOT an easy job at all but it finally went.
Heres my hand just after hitting it as the old one came off...now my hand is more swollen and even more bruised. BUT!!! I also have a nice shiny/pretty new gear knob. lol!! (its a girl thing) Wink
