Does anyone else have a s**te signal from the FM stations.
I know its the car aerial because my 607 was fine at picking up signal but my 206 is pants. Ive tried all different stations and its the same......drifting in and out....I now play CDs most of the time but I like to do the quiz on my local station (Heart) in the mornings. Should I/Can I get an independent aerial or is the one Ive got fixable....its gotta be that hasnt it??

Well you need to check the aerial base, and the cable from the base to the headunit,I use it daily, and it's clear,it's fixable for sure

I can guide u if you like, you need to start by make sure the aerial is tight, the long section,if it's tight, then we need to move inside, and you need to take off the interior light off,so you can see the aerial base inside, and make sure it's not lose, can you do this so far?

I will check it tomorrow as its dark now. I did try and wiggle the aerial today and its tight so I am gonna assume its an inside problem.

Do a simple test for me, put radio on , while listening to it turn on your rear screen heater/demister.

Does this make the signal worse.?

Do you use the rear screen heater often.?

I've always had good signal in my pug. It's not full bars, but it's been 2 or 3 most of the time. (my headunit displays signal bars like a phone)

Original radio. No I have never used the demister as yet.....well only once to check it worked. Went for a drive earlier and went through all preset stations.....all were drifting in and out but some were worse than others.

No because I hadn't read those comments til
after I'd been for a drive. I will be going out tomorrow for
sure but not too sure about today. I will try the demister
as soon as I can and let you know the result.

Ok...so Ive tried turning the demister and other bits on and off...most dont have any effect but the demister does make the signal worse. Yesterday was horrendous....every radio station was just static all the time...unlistenable at times. Ivew done myself a couple of CDs to out in there because I can see myself getting a hammer to it soon. grr!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU

If the demister makes it a lot worse you might have a alternator issue which you would have to get checked out.
Some cars have powerfull amplifiers built in and take a lot of power, if the alternator voltage is droppping it can effect the amplifier, putting the demister on shows this up as that also takes up a lot of power.
