strange electrical problems

54 gti 180 car drives fine no problems battery and alternator checked both fine,when you start car doors lock, stereo beeps, dash needles flick up, sometimes but not always display very dim but not dash display and when you drive random messages show up eg no cd, airbag fault, etc and keep losing time and date any ideas would be most welcome.

How did you test the battery? Did you drop test it or just check the voltage

If not could be a faulty bsi unit

Check the earth strap too (battery negative to somewhere on the gearbox)

BSI reboot? Unlikely but perhaps worth a try.

Check all earthing straps everywhere.

auto electrician checked battery engine off, engine starting,and engine running all good, started with h/lights on didn't go dim drove to dads in liverpool about 80 miles no problems at all been ok for 3 days now don't know if its damp weather bad earth or what but let you know if probs come back thanks for help so far

a while ago had something similar and the connector to the battery was a bit loose, possibility him messing with the battery has sorted it
