Waterdamage In Key

#1: Waterdamage In Key Author: bistoo09, Location: Grantham PostPosted: Wed Jan 08, 2014 12:13 pm

Hi Guys,

My key got soaked ages ago and I havent really been worried about the effects of it as all I thought I had lost was the ability to use my remote central locking. However my dad has just warned me that my immobiliser is in my key therefore my car has no immobiliser.

Is there any cheap way of getting the key repaired and connected back to my car?

How much would I be looking to get it done?

Thanks

Luke

If the immobiliser isn't working you won't start the car ... so can you?

The immobiliser is in the ignition. The key just holds a chip which matches the immobiliser code.

The car starts. But when its locked surely there should be a red flashing light. Which I dont have.

The key opens the doors and boot when turned in door lock.
The car starts and runs fine.

I just cant use my remote central locking :/

A new remote board and syncing using Peugeot Planet would solve it. Probably cost less than a tenner on ebay and then the cost of finding someone with PP to do it, presuming you already have the security code and don't need to go to the dealers for it.
