#1: Recommend a flip blade key cutter Author: robb PostPosted: Sun Jan 12, 2014 9:18 am

Just wondering if anyone can recommend an online key blade cutter who can cut blade from photos? Most of them seem to say with some decent pictures they can work out what code my key is as I don't know what code it is.

We have 2 key cutters in town, but from previous experience Timpson's have stopped doing car keys I believe and the other place made a bit of a hash of a key for my A3 a few years ago.

Any advice welcome. Thank You

Any locksmith should be able to cut the key for you from the key number, I doubt any will do it from photos.
Timpsons is usually the place of choice, but some branches are funny about cutting keys they haven't sold.

Depending on your location, another member might be able to suggest somewhere nearby that has a good reputation.

Yeah tried Timpsons today, they wanted £35 per key to cut it!

Went across the road and they did me 2 for £25, still a lot more than the last I had some keys cut, but that was a good 5 years ago.

Timpsons all over won't cut car keys that aren't sold by them nowadays, I went to about 5 of them and they said it's the same around the country.

I'm in the same boat about a flip key cutting, if anyone know's anyone near them, and would be up for getting me my key cut (will send over spare key, plus a uncut key ready) I will happily bung them to make it worth their while:)

It's handy I know a local guy who owns a key cutting machine then!
Drop me a FB message and I'll see if he will do it for you!
