#1: Peugeot 1.1 02 lx problems with engine i think? Author: Stephen96, Posted: Thu Jan 16, 2014 4:46 pm ---- hello, Have had the peugeot a while now and recently i have started the car and she would start up and automatically cut herself of. Sometimes the car would start and you could hear a knocking sound as if she isnt getting enough power, after a minute she would start to kick over properly(somtimes it wouldnt kick over and continue to rattle) but if i stood on the clutch she wouldnt make the noise?. Also drove to town to shop and started her and she sort of started and then cut out, so i then started her with a bit of rev's and she would start but i got her back to the house had to keep her in 2nd gear the hole way home if she wasnt getting enough revs she would of cut out? I have a button installed in the car now if she doesnt start without the button on, click it on and it would start. But sometimes it wouldnt. Really confused and dont have a notion what is wrong...
help please

Sounds like what you mean is it starts and then immediately cuts out, so doesn't idle unless you rev it. How healthy is the battery? Has the idle control valve been messed with?
Are you sure that the rattling is related to the starting problem and not related to something else like the clutch?
