#1: Crossthreaded Drums Author: 20Drift, Posted: Thu Feb 27, 2014 10:39 am ---- Hi Guys
When I got my tyres fitted yesterday, I was told that one of the wheel nuts on my rear passenger side was just spinning, and not tightening at all.
I knew my drivers side one was doing it, but it's a royal pain in the a**e now both sides are. I've got no option but to replace both drums.
Does anyone know how much I'd be looking at to do this, and what the rough procedure would be?
Cheers!

Check prices for parts in your area but do note that the circlips holding the rear bearings in place are a right pain so probably easiest to plan on fitting new bearings and new drums. The drums and bearings are readily available from and reasonable car parts shop - you don't have to pay Peugeot prices for these.
You will also need new "staked" nuts and a torque wrench that goes up to quite a high value, I can't recall what the setting is but Haynes will tell you.
Also look carefully at the rubber seal and washer behind the drum, note the order and orientation that they are fitted as it isn't obvious until you have done it a few times which way they fit and it isn't in Haynes manual - it might be in the manual but I think the picture is very poor quality.

Get a clean set without too much wear and they will be fine unless you have to have new.
Then you will just need a 32mm socket on a breaker bar to get the hub nuts off.
