#1: Whoopsie Daisy! Author: MrRichmond1995, Location: ChelmsfordPosted: Thu Mar 20, 2014 4:18 pm ---- So yesterday I was driving back from town and had a little accident.
I was driving down the road and saw that a women was edging out of a junction and when I looked forward again I saw this huge car recovery lorry had stopped and I put the anchors down as fast as I could but couldn't stop in time.
So my car is now a right off and I am currently in the middle of a claim.
The ironic part of all this? I crashed into a car recovery truck right!
There goes my plan of getting a GTI 180 in 2 years!
This is the result of my crash
As you can see I did a proper job of ruining the car!
The car is looking a sorry state in the yard where it is being sorted
The car starts but when you put it in gear it just revs and doesnt move anywhere
This picture sums it up!
I have taken out all of the sound system I installed and the insurance will be dealing with it.
From the back it looks like any other 206 but the front needs alot of T-Cut!
Question is what do you think I might get for it?
It was in mint condition and had only done 42,000 miles!
I went on Glass.co.uk and got a personalised quote and got these results:
(Sorry iPhone screenshot) (Get squinting)

#3: Re: Whoopsie Daisy! Author: PezHdi, Location: ShrewsburyPosted: Thu Mar 20, 2014 4:22 pm ---- Ouch. Hope your alright!
Hopefully your claim will be sorted as soon as possible!
That's only a rough guess going by someone else who had a similar accident ages ago on here, so you might get more!
Did the truck you crash into also recover you by any chance?
He sure did! His company was totally cool with it.
He got out of his truck and saw me in total shock and said "Well your insurance is gonna f*****g love you!"

Nope ABS didn't go off and airbag didn't deploy!
You wasn't going anywhere near fast enough to deploy airbags on a multiplexed 206
Press the brake pedal much harder next time to trigger the EBA.

Possibly a Saxo (Dont hate) or a 1.2 Clio
#14: Re: Whoopsie Daisy! Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Fri Mar 21, 2014 2:36 am ---- The insurance will give you a well below par figure, so see if you can hold out for a little bit more.
I get a trade in price from £670.00 to £1,040.00 using your reg on Glasses Guide
Just for comparison Private sale price from £1,455.00 to £1,995.00, Dealer retail price from £2,310.00 to £2,800.00.
Less your excess from the final settlement figure and you get even less. This is all presuming you are fully comp.

Saxo = death trap
Clio = Renault electrics, even worse then Fiat & Alfa Romeo p**s poor attempt's at electrics & that's quite an achievement
Anyway, someone's going to get a nice salvage bargain when that 206 get's auctioned of
