Longer Gearbox for 2.0 HDI?

Hi all!

My gearbox is on its way out so will need replacing. I just thought I'd ask before I go ahead and replace it if or not there is a longer gearbox option available? Preferably one that will just bolt on and work with the standard clutch that I just had done.. (yes I know typical it would play up shortly after Rolling Eyes )

I read a thread on here about a HDi 90 ECO gearbox but it seemed very inconclusive...

I also think the 2.2 HDI box is totally different (ML something rather than ours with is BE something).

Thanks .. Smile

I'm interested in that too

Are all 2.0 HDis so short in 1st and also jumpy in 2nd?

With all my caution I'm trying to rev-match from 1st to 2nd and I still manage to get an unpleasant jump with the gunky sound

Try a different final drive in the gearbox when you have it rebuilt

That would lengthen every gear

I'll have to have a word with some people... Was just making sure there is not a "known gearbox" that would just work that I could look out for on eBay that's all

If I ever get anywhere with this I'll post another thread but if its going to be a pain I'll probably end up just putting another standard box on it.

Cheers Smile

As i said the easiest option and fastest is a box rebuild.

I do offer this service, but my thread go delete by the forum clean up cycle
