just been watching a video on youtube of some guy replacing headgasket as im due to do mine today and noticed he has a cat on his downpipe, where as mine (and most, by the look of it) is straight through. my 206 has failed MOT on emissions recently, it passes oxygen and co2 but the other 1 is still too high. could this be because im missing the cat on the downpipe?? :S never seen one on a 206 before

Which model do you have? Some are under the car and some are as you say in the downpipe it depends on model, engine and age etc.

i would be guessing you have a 1.4 as my cat is under the car ,but went to buy a second hand replacement exhaust and the car was only 1 year newer than mine and that had the cat on the manifold.
