Fan wiring diagram
-> 206 Problems

So I've been having a few issues with overheating in the recent weather so I thought I'd investigate it by changing coolant (was grey), thermostat and the fan relays.

1st thing I did was change the thermostat which gave me a surprise on taking the old one out, someone had hacked the thermostat off and just left the seal in place......WHY????

2nd thing I did was change the coolant and out came grey water, not a problem as I was putting fresh coolant in.

3rd thing I did was change the relays....This is where my issues really started, someone had completely cut the wires to the fan and messed about with the wiring to the relays

If anyone got a colour wiring diagram for a 2004 206 1.4 petrol it would be appreciated, I've got the Haynes manual in B&W but it's difficult to follow.

Thanks

That's pre-plexed. The OP has a multi-plexed car.

I don't think a coloured wiring diagram would be of any use as Peugeot use codes printed on the wires rather than colours to identify them.

Just go to the scrapy,and look for a 1.4 MUX car,and get the whole wiring loom of the fans replaced :),and the previous owner took the thermostat off,as he/she might had a heat problem related,but that makes the car take ages to get warm in winter,and cool off very fast,which cause a bad MPG,and car runs rough,so it's good that you fitted a new thermostat.

Thanks everyone, I was thinking of going down the local scrappy as Timon suggests, probably the easiest option.

Best forum going by the way

As it's a very common problem to have corroded wiring on the 206 I'd avoid 2nd hand because it's likely to be corroded too. All you need is some new terminals for the relays. Fix what you already have.

Thanks all for your help, I'm going to the local scrappy later, hopefully they'll have something in.
