I'm hopefully going to have this car through Uni - 3 or 4 years so I'm definitely going to do some work on it.
I've bought some scratch remover paste to try out, but thats about it for now.
Someone has advised me to buy car seat covers -what do you think?
Thanks

#18: Re: gjab95's Peugeot 206 Black Fever - ideas welcome Author: gjab95, Location: LancashirePosted: Fri Jul 04, 2014 5:59 am ---- I'm staying near the Uni but will be travelling home (about 45miles each way) every few weeks.

Part of the display is faded - I know the date is wrong but the "14" is very faded compared to the rest. Is there any way to sort this out ?
I might try and find a new case for this. There's a few scratches, and I'm sure I've seen them for sale for less than £20
Also need to test the cigarette lighter and if it doesnt work try to fit a new one, it'll come in handy when I need to charge my phone.
I was thinking of replacing my radio (eventually) with this www.halfords.com/sat-n...car-stereo or something similar - with CD/radio and USB - is it worth it?

I warn you now, the cigarette lighting socket in the 206 is a right pain to replace, even just changing the bulb is a mission

The cigarette lighter socket is in completely the wrong place on a right hand drive car for having any type of charger coming out of it, as the wire can interfere with using the handbrake, and if you have the wire trailing forward to anything mounted on the dash/windscreen, it gets in the way of the gear stick.
Better off putting a second socket somewhere on the passenger side.

I'm off to search for a thread about how to change the back light
#23: Re: gjab95's Peugeot 206 Black Fever - ideas welcome Author: gjab95, Location: LancashirePosted: Fri Jul 04, 2014 2:05 pm ---- I've read a few threads on fixing the display and it seems quite easy. Is it just a case of gently pulling the top off and then changing the bulbs?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but how easy is that to do? Electrics is not my strong point
#25: Re: gjab95's Peugeot 206 Black Fever - ideas welcome Author: gjab95, Location: LancashirePosted: Fri Jul 18, 2014 3:32 am ---- I haven't changed anything on my car since I last posted and despite trying to learn I still know nothing about cars!
I'm thinking of altering the car slightly by painting the bonnet vents either red or blue, and the calipers too (hoping to get alloys soonish). Also by painting the dashboard console etc, but I don't know if either would clash with the orange interior? I don't really have the money or the knowledge to replace my seats, and the interior door panels and glove box have an orange interior too. So what would you do?
Thanks
#26: Re: gjab95's Peugeot 206 Black Fever - ideas welcome Author: MrWhite, Posted: Fri Jul 18, 2014 4:53 am ---- I managed to pick up second hand 180 interior for £30 and sold my old one fr £28. I re-trimmed the door cards in black pleather and sprayed the a b and c pillars in black I might be able to source you a few parts down here as my old place was a Peugeot breakers and stock changes all the time check out my "project merlot" thread to see what other mods you could do
#27: Re: gjab95's Peugeot 206 Black Fever - ideas welcome Author: gjab95, Location: LancashirePosted: Fri Jul 18, 2014 5:08 am ---- Where did you get your interior from, and is it easy to change? What kind of parts do you think you'd be able to source? I'll take a look at your thread - Thanks!!
