Cam Belt Tension
-> 206 Problems

#1: Cam Belt Tension Author: TattyWater PostPosted: Sun Jul 06, 2014 3:35 pm
    ----
Need to change the head gasket on my 1.1 1999 206. So going to do the Timing belt and water pump at same time.

Haynes manual says need Peugeot electronic tension measure tool, how do I get the correct tension without this tools, it says 90Deg turn on tensioner is about right, but check at dealer ??

Any advise appreciated.

Cheers

Mike

It should be an automatic tensioner.
You should be able to just crank it back with a wrench or a small breaker bar and then the belt should just slide off.
Hope this helps

Not that I can remember.

I might be wrong though as I haven't changed the cambelt in ages
