Is it worth buying my own PP2000?

#1: Is it worth buying my own PP2000? Author: JordHaze, Location: Warwickshire PostPosted: Thu Jul 10, 2014 3:53 am

Hi guys,

Went to my local dealership yesterday to ask about Diagnostics testing. They quoted me £38.80 for full diag check.

I did some shopping around and discovered that I can buy my own PP2000 and do my own diagnostics checks for 60p cheaper. Is it worth it? Or should I just get them to do it?

I can do all the repairs cheap as I can get trade prices on parts, and I have friends who are Mech's so I'm not worried about that, I was just wondering if it's worth paying the extra 60p?

Cheers,

Jord

I'm considering the same thing tbh and I would say so. The benefits are you can self diagnose your car, clear codes as well as offering your services to other users and general public if you choose to advertise away from the site for a small fee or some beer money. Will soon pay for itself, plus if you have trouble with it there are few members on here who have experience with it. MrBSI & Macca come to mind along with others.

If you can get PP2000 and the cables for under £33 then I would.

If you get the codes checked and leave, next time, they charge you again.

I've had it a while and it amazing how many times you connect and reconnect in a day ... mines paid for itself already in savings and I don't offer my PP2000 services to others yet.

I've got diag software for all our cars ... I feel more in control!

You can also turn on some features that are not in your cars spec. Worth it, and you can always sell it on when done.

For sure, Recently purchased PP2000 myself and made my money back from diagnoses and repairs myself.
