Help with fault codes.

#1: Help with fault codes. Author: Anthonys206 PostPosted: Fri Jul 11, 2014 3:05 pm

Hi guys, i've got 3 fault codes showing on pp2000.

p0135
p0141
p1357

i know that the 2 top codes are related to the lambda sensors which im hoping is down to a dodgy wire as they are both intermittent faults as it hasnt been cured by 3 new sensors.

The one im struggling on is the p1357. where do i even start? has anyone ever had this fault? Any help would be great thanks.

For a start I can't believe that you have fitted 3 new lambda sensors. After fitting one and the fault was still there, did it not give you a clue that the sensor might not be faulty?
Did you change the pre cat or post cat sensor, or both?
DTCs only point you in the general direction of a fault, not the actual fault

P1357 - Intermittent fault. Injectors circuit. Fault on the cylinder 4 injector or on the harness

I would start by ruling out the injector. Swap the injector with the one next to it and see if the code changes. If it does then happy days.
If it doesn't, then check the harness.
Also check for a leak from the washer jet Wink

Any more help needed and you might need to tell us which engine is in the car.

Firstly I can't believe that you have never thought about new parts being faulty.
I changed both sensors when I changed the catalytic converter.
I changed all the injectors not so long ago along with injector seals, coilpack and plugs.
Next thing to change is the injector harness which I bought yesterday.
I didn't see the need to say which engine was in the car as I asked for help on the fault code as it wasn't listed on the PSA fault code list strangely enough.
It's a 52 plate 1.4 though.
