#1: Do plexed british GTIs have a throttle cable? Author: America, Location: Catania, ItalyPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2014 7:21 am ---- I have a european plexed 2003 GTI with a throttle cable and I thought I read somewhere plexed british spec GTIs do not have a cable but an electronic throttle body.
Being as I am doing a 180 intake mod on my car I thought I would see if anyone could shed some light on this. I already have purchased the 180 intake manifold with TB w/ fuel line and injectors, 180 alternator. I have got a line on a used GTI head w/ cams to open the intakes on to match the 180 intake manifold.
I have read about pre-pleyed GTIs having the 180 intake mod and all have used a throttle cable.. but being as my car is plexed could I somehow use the 180 TB as it is on my GTI with some wiring mods? Anyone know enough about the 180 TB wiring to know how it and if it could be done? I would need the electronic throttle pedal off the 180 and what else?
I could be way off.. and if so I'll use the GTI-6 TB with an adapter. With the GTI-6 TB all the wiring plugs in except the ICV which will require mounting near the TB and a different plug. Either way I'm going to have to spend some more money...
