Had this problem a few times now.

Was driving down a dual carriageway, then all of a sudden would get a loss of power (as if i were braking) and the engine warning light flashes, along with juddering etc.

Took it to the garage and had the coils and sparks replaced, but after a week (90 odd miles) its done it again.

Any idea as to what exactly may be the problem?

I'm having a similar problem. I also changed coils. I'm gonna change map sensor next

I have a sneaky feeling it's injector related, so I may dive into fixing that, but please do keep me updated if the map sensor change does fix the problem for you!

Change of plan. Changing fuel filter instead then map sensor if no luck

I had an erratic misfire, picked up the correct code with a Bluetooth OBD sensor I bought for a fiver, and it turned out to be one faulty injector. The one below the squirter. Which, after research on here, seemed to be #common#.

Awesome thanks for the info! I bought a Redex injector cleaner last week and it seems to have solved it for now, fingers crossed it doesn't do it again

get the codes read. Having a guess and changing parts, especially if you are a relative novice at diagnostics, and hoping you have guessed right is quickly very expensive and time consuming.
