Problem with my sisters 206
Hi. Wondering if anyone can help on here
Been trying to solve a problem on my sisters 206
When you switch the ignition off and take keys out and wait for the bsi to go to sleep then put the keys in the ignition to start the car again the rev counter and the temp gauge do a weird little dance then stop on about a quarter turn backwards. So if you done it 4 times it would end up in the right position again.
Once the engine is running they work right albeit in the wrong place ie idling at 5tho rpm ect
I know it's a long shot but just invade anyone can help I thought I'd post it here.

Should I be disconnecting the battery to fit them or is there another procedure ?
#4: Re: Rev counter and temp gauge problem Author: MrWhite, Posted: Mon Aug 18, 2014 3:17 pm ---- Try to find a pair with lower mileage than your own as if the clocks you buy are higher your Ecu sets your mileage to that. I would recommend taking the positive off the battery and its about 25 -35 minutes of work for someone who hasn't done this before.
the code needs to be the same and is printed on the clock face something like T1/13m-JA (those are mine from a diesel)
you can pull the "hood" of the cluster toward the steering wheel and it should pop off then there are 2 (i think t20 or t25) torx screws that hold the dials in place and at the back there is 1 (or 2) connections to unplug from the back of the unit.

This is one of 2 faults it has.
The other I believe to be ecu fault. As soon as you turn the engine on it reads "red bar" temperature and gives a stop warning. I think somehow the fan or relating wires has given 12v to the temperature sensor that is located at top of engine near top hose. This all started when the fan didn't come on and the car over heated.

If you have your ignition on,an your fans kicks in,and stop alert is on,with the temp gauge to the red mark,then you have a problem with your temp. sensor or it's plug.
