Radio and internal light not coming on when engine off
-> 206 Problems

#1: Radio and internal light not coming on when engine off Author: spykeboi PostPosted: Thu Jan 15, 2015 8:13 am

Hey guys,

I've recently bought a 206 1.4 HDI.

When I turn off the engine, if I want to use the internal courtesy light, I have to turn the key to ACC, it won't come on even if I use the switch on the light.

Also, my radio won't come on unless the key is at ACC or run, and always loses memory when keys are removed.

I've tried swapping over the red and yellow wire and still got the same issue.

Any idea's?

What year? Different wiring shemes (pre-plex vs the later multiplex)

Not sure how the interior light is supposed to work (utterly rare for me touse it other than on auto) Check that you've got a constant +12V in the plug to the light unit. If not, check fuses. If you do, might be that the ground through the BSI interrupts so that the battery can't be run down?
Hopefully someone else can clarify.

Radio - sounds like there's no constant +12V to the unit, only switched. Check with voltmeter / test light - if not, look at fuses.

There is a fuse that can be moved to make the radio have permenent memory. Can't find the link at the moment, but a look through the fuse related topics in problems solved forum should give you what you are looking for.

Found the link. ..

well the internal courtesy light won't be on without having the ignition on ACC so that you don't forget it on,and drain the battery,and if you use it to be on when doors are open,it won't work unless the ignition on,so nothing wrong with the light.

I was able to move the fuse position to enable the memory to be kept on the radio.

Also, I swapped over the red and yellow wires on my stereo
