And if the information is correct or a gimmick?

On-board diagnostics=OBD,and 2 for the second generation,and about the scanner you are asking about,a friend of mine bought one,and it works well,but don't expect that it will be a prof. one,just read faults,and clear it.

Thanks my friend. I have Peugeot 206 2.0 diesel Hdi 2003. Do you think that OBD2 is good for my pug? Thanks a lot my friend

You might get a reading but it might not be correct. OBD2 is actually a US standard so there are slight differences. And as the US have very few diesel cars if any the codes relating to them may not all exist. While the plug may look the same different obd systems use different pins and software.

Pre-2004 diesels weren't standard so your best bet would be lexia-3 cables and PP2000 on a laptop. After 2004 the correct system is EOBD compatible ... European OBD. The change over for petrol engines to EOBD was late 2000.

Sealey make Peugeot/Citroen specific code readers but they are not cheap .... Paid over £200 for mine but it does Renaults and other cars too ... But not my Alfas!!! Sad
