They would not have to take the gearbox out if it was a shaft seal. If the clutch felt fine before the work was ordered I would suspect they are trying to generate non-warranty income

I am wondering if they have had to drop the subframe to disconnect exhaust manufold or similar and have damaged a driveshaft when doing that or spilt a driveshaft gait or and you subsequently driving it has caused the shaft to wear. £133 pounds for a clutch is quite cheap; is it actually the price of a drive shaft that they have damaged? I feel that there is something odd here but £133 is cheap and getting an independent engineer to asses will cost quite a bit. Will the AA or RAC investigate free?

#19: Re: Oily puddle in passenger footwell Author: Carol, Posted: Mon Feb 09, 2015 2:21 pm ---- Really sorry me again
! Car stopped at speed today overheated, engine died, waited for three hours for the rac and was towed to peugeot ! Appears the head gasket has again been compromised as the reason for overheating was empty coolant . They omitted to replace a clip on the hose when replacing the heater matrix weeks ago and when I was still worried on Friday and took it in to be checked I was told it was fine ! Feel like either crying or killing someone .rheough their sheer incompetence I have missed all aft at work two meetings I had to abandon and now my car is again at their garage . Just waiting to hear what their excise is this tune !
