#1: New front discs and pads. Author: bluedan, Location: South Wales PostPosted: Mon Feb 23, 2015 4:41 am

Thanks to the info on the 'Problem' forum I was guided to the correct fittings and parts numbers for my 2002 1.4, 8v, 206. Got them off Ebay without problem for a bargain price. Bosch!!!! Why do they have to use such different fixings? Used to be they fitted 7mm Allen screws to the pad carriers when the 'normal' allen key set didn't contain that size. 'Special tool needed', more expense Sad . The caliper fixing bolts on these are T55 Torx screws (as well as the smaller Torx screws in discs). Anyway, after buying a set of Torx bits to suit I set about changing the discs. Luckily through the information, again on this site, I was able to prepare before the attempt. Tools needed: Torx bits, blowtorch and breaker bar. Apart from the torx bits, the other stuff I already have. Little bit of gentle heat (shielded from bodywork and brake pipes) and they came off easy. Don't think it would have been so easy without the little blowtorch. Would have been a lot easier and cheaper if Bosch had used standard bolts in the first place.
Again, thanks for the help and knowledge given, would have been a struggle without it. Cheers
