#1: 206 fuel pump problem Author: gogogokarter PostPosted: Sat Mar 14, 2015 12:12 pm
    ----
Hi, I am new to this site and looking for some help. I have a 1999 206 gti, that wont start. It will turn over but wont fire up. It has new spark plugs and coilpack, so they were immediately ruled out. The problem seems to lie with the fuel pump. I have checked the fuel pump relay under the ecu and this is fine. I have also checked voltage to the pump, fine also. I have removed and bench tested the pump, again this is working. However when trying to fire up the car the fuel pump doesn't work and therefore doesn't send anything to the injectors? I have cleaned all contact terminals but still no luck. If anyone has any suggestions or advice it would be much appreciated? Thanks in advance

No, I never let the tank run to empty, never let it get below 1/4. I thought they had an in tank fuel filter that is self cleaning?

I think its the Phase 2 cars that have the self cleaning filter in the tank, The age of your car, being a phase 1, i think it does have a seperate fuel filter. Itll be under the rear arch on the drivers side of the car
