#1: rough driving feeling on peugeot 206, any solution? Author: Gabi911 PostPosted: Thu Mar 26, 2015 3:51 am

hi.
I own a 206 1.6 16V, automatic transmission, year 2007. did 114K KM
I don't know why but the driving is not comfortable at all, car feel stiff and hard, feel every bump or cracks in the road, also every small feeling is coming also through the steering wheel, and through the car body.
what I did so far:
replaced wishbones, drop links, anti roll bar bushes, steering outer tie rods (balljoint), all 3 engine mounts are new (FEBI) no success.
when I do a bouncing test to the front shock its feel very stiff.
a mechanic took out the right shock, by the eye it looks ok, also the top strut mount looks ok (the shock are the original and not been replaced)
any idea on how to make the car feel comfortable?

when inspecting by hand all the front parts every thing looks ok, the only two things that I suspect are:
1) the is a metallic bang when I hit the right inner tie rod that coming from the connection between the inner tie rod and the steering rack, been told its probably a noise coming from the steering rack and not the inner tie rod.
2) the inner CV of the left driveshaft have some play in his connection with the transmission.
don't know if both are ok, and if not, if its the cause for the rough riding.
any help will be appreciated.
best regards!!

1 simple question, does it have the standard wheels or have you fitted alloys? If alloys fitted what size wheen and tyre have you fitted?

With everything you have already replaced it sounds like bent / seized shocks or someone has fitted aftermarket shocks and springs that are excesively stiff or has cut a spring to lower the car.

in case of replacing the shocks, I only have two options:
1) KYB Premium
2) RECORD oil shocks
which one of them is more recommended?
