#1: Odd wiper "problem" Author: Ross74H, Location: HertfordshirePosted: Mon Sep 14, 2015 4:37 pm ---- Not sure if anyone else has had this issue so I thought I'd share it and find out.
I did have Bosch Areowipers on my SW. I say "did" as I put the wipers on this morning and the car promptly flung the drivers side wiper over its roof into the hedge (no way am I going to look for that in there, its a dang bramble hedge!).
So went to put my old wiper back on (always keep them just in case) only to realise as I was putting it on that the end of the wiper nearest to the edge of the windscreen was BUCKLED!!!!
I had thought nothing of a "squeak" I would get when the wipers were on, but when I put the old wiper back on I watched it go and just before the squeak, the wiper visisbly jammed for a second or so then snapped free - but only in the upward sweep.
Watching it from the outside the wiper blade visibly impacted with and jammed against the channel along the edge of my windscreen until the metal main arm moved far enough up its travel to effectively "yank" the wiper free and on.
I have now solved it by changing the standard 22" wiper to a smaller 21" that doesn't foul the channel.
I am guessing my car is just a freak or has anyone else have this happen to them?

There is alignment marks on the windscreen glass ( well there is on a genuine Peugeot screen ) for refitting the wiper arms correctly if there ever removed from there splined shafts.

I'm guessing that the 22" aeros are a little bit bigger or fit slightly further over than the normal wipers then if the suggestion is to use 21" ones. I wasn't sure if people were getting the issue with 22" "normal" wipers though which I was.
How hard are the bushes in the wiper linkage to replace? Most of the other bushes in my car are shot and in need of replacement anyway so wouldn't surprise me if the wiper linkage ones are gone too.
