hi all, took the oil filter off the car yesterday ( the paper element type ) and the other parts fell out as well, the spring and the plastic part that is also in there. I'm not sure which way round it all goes back so anyone got a diagram or can let me know what way round it all goes back.

If you are on about the plastic part that sits at the bottom of the filter, that should have been supplied fitted into the new filter.

hi. no that's not what I have. there is a big spring about 25mm in diameter and a plastic cage type thing as well. its for a 206cc 1.6, 2004. all that came was the element. got it from euro car parts and ordered it via registration number of the car. www.carparts4less.co.u...c8b&000231

the element is the same as the one that came out, that photo is of the much longer filter I believe.

Hello..Since your car is 1.6,it got the NFU engine, and it got the short filter with plastic valve inside it which stops the metal spring from popping up when you start the engine,so the spring you are talking about should be fitted on the oil filter base, and you fit the new filter in the plastic black cover, and install it ,very simple.
