#1: Brake pad question, URGENT Author: PhotonicDreamer, Posted: Wed Sep 23, 2015 1:08 pm ---- Hi guys, was replacing front brake pads today, the guide bolt on the lower caliper shown in the haynes manual, and supplied in my brake pad box looked like this
but the bolt that came out just looked like a regular bolt and was no cut out for the other bolt shown and nothing on the caliper that looked anything like the one in the haynes manual and supplied in the box. The bolt i took out looked like this.
Since there was no place to put this bolt supplied i just used the one that came out and re-tightned after fitting brake pads
have i done something horrifically wrong here?

I've never found anyway to fit these so they go in the spares bin for a rainy day when I need bolts of the same thread and size ... and the extra bit gets ripped off!
