#1: Clutch Slave Cylinder Bleed Nipple. Author: The_Bird_Man PostPosted: Mon Nov 09, 2015 2:12 pm

Hey everyone ! Hope all is well ! I'm new to the forum and just want to say Hi Very Happy I've also got a very annoying problem which I'de like to resolve pretty soon. I've got a 2006 Peugeot S.W verve 1.4 HDI. I am attempting to bleed the clutch system but due to the plastic bleed nipple on the slave cylinder being chewed I am at my whits end trying to release it. I now can't get a spanner on it as the head is rounded, I've tried vice grips but again it's proving difficult to get grip on it due to the lack of room. If anyone has got any tips on how I can loosen it to fit a new one on then to finally do the job I intended to do in the first place I would greatly appreciate it ! Many thanks, Eddie Smile

Hey there! Best bet is to take the slave cylinder off, Un clip the pipe and two bolts and it's off, think mine was an 11mm bleed nipple... Short spanner will fit

Oh if you do take it off make sure you block the pipe to stop fluid from dripping out

Hey ! Thanks for the reply Smile Think I may just do that, it'll be easier than wasting time trying to get the nipple off in situ. How easy it the pipe to get off, I can't remember how it's fixed on but I know it wasn't obvious to me, ha ! Also what could I use to block the pipe off. Thanks ! Smile

That's ok! Yeah it's a tight squeeze down there. The pipe is really easy. There's a clip you need to pry up with a pick or small flat screw driver then the pipe will pull out. I just wrapped a vinyl glove around it tight then a peg to keep it there. If I remember rightly the pipe goes to a bracket where you can pop it out of for more movement.

Ahhh haaa, cushty !! Sounds easy enough. An early start for me then, ha. Not sure how easy a new nipple will be to source though, will have a ring round, maybe the local scrappy will have one in I can have off it. Thanks for the reply matey, much appreciated Wink

Hello there, a new slave cylinder is probably the easiest, most guarenteed, solution.
Also bleed screws are usually only 3 sizes:
M7x1.00 - 8/9mm head
M8x1.25 - 9mm head
M10x1.00 - 11mm head
You can get them from ebay for around £2. Sure scap yards have them too.

This is just my experience with a few different makes of cars, haven't seen the smallest one on anything but bikes though.

Use a flare nut spanner if you need to release the lines as well, rounding them will ruin your day.

Regards, Richard.
