Hi all,

I'm relatively new to this forum after a few years break from the pug life!

Anyway I'm here to stay now.

I've got a 2000 x reg 206 1.1 LX I recently bought as a cheap work hack but it's got an odd fault I just can't fathom out.

The backlight for the clock had gone so I bought a new bulb for it
Since I fitted the new bulb, the alternator light has been on very dimly.

Also, if I turn the interior light onto constantly on, the alternator light comes on brightly and the interior light is very dim. This is only when the engine is running. When the engine is off, it doesn't work.

Here's the twist...the interior light works perfectly when in the door position!!

Any help very much appreciated!!

Hi and welcome!

I'm pretty sure the interior light has 2 positive inputs. One for the switch which should only work when the ignition is on and one for when the door is open. On mine, the light works when the doors are open but not on the switch. I am yet to fix this but I thought it might help you on your way.
