#1: Heater matrix replacement Author: Spiderman101 PostPosted: Tue Mar 01, 2016 1:52 am
    ----
Hi guys, 1st off let me say hi, and thanks for having me Smile
now down to business, i have a 53 plate 2.0hdi quicksilver, its become apparent that the heater matrix is leaking.
i have managed to find a replacement matrix but have heard that it's often the O-rings that are to blame for the leak.
where can i buy these O rings?
and if they aren't sold separately, what "kit do i need to buy to get them?
thanks for reading

The O rings are now part of the pipe kit which costs just under £15 from Peugeot main dealer.

You get o rings, the plastic pipe set to the matrix & a set of screws.

Peugeot have it listed as Pipe Set: 6448 G4

This includes pipe, O-Rings and the screw that attaches the matrix to the pipe.

No matter what anyone tells you it's not a dash out job:

1. Drain coolant
2. Disconnect matrix hoses on engine side of bulkhead
3. Remove screw between the two pipes sticking out of the bulkhead (engine side)
4. It might help to remove the glovebox
- Remove lid (Just pull and wiggle)
- Remove all torx screws in glovebox surround
- Remove 2 torx screws from inside hinges
- Remove and unplug (if fitted) glovebox light switch
- Pull and wiggle
- Unplug (if fitted) glovebox light
5. Remove the screw that holds matrix onto opipes
6. Remove screw that holds pipes onto heater assembly
7. place something under where the pipe will break free to catch the coolant
8. Slide the matrix partly out of the housing. You need many hands for this one. You need to pull all of the black plastic tabs to one side and then give the matrix a yank.
9. Fight with the pipes and the matrix to get them to separate
10. Swap out O Rings
11. Reassemble in reverse order
12. Dry everything thotoughly (helps to detect leaks)
11. Refill coolant
12. Bleed system
13. Check for leaks
14. You now have a dry footwell once more!
