Hello all

I recently brought a Peugeot 206 GTI 180 from work as a road legal track car project, it had been sitting in our yard for 2 years without moving a wheel until one day I decided to chase up the insurance company and find out what was going on. The very same day the car was clear and was due to go to the scrap yard in the sky so I decided to offer the boss some money and save it. I Attached a jump pack to it and it started straight away so got it delivered to my house and is now tucked up nicely in a warm dry garage waiting for me to start work on her. Over the weekend I gave her a damn good wash, removed the rear wiper motor and replaced the damaged bonnet and headlight.

My plan is to run it as a road legal track car, it's a long running project as I have limited funds, the rear exhaust needs replacing as the back box has fallen off but luckily I have a friend that has one left over from his. The brakes are desperate for a change all round and really need bleeding as you can imagine after not turning a wheel for two years but other than that I can't see it failing an MOT on anything else. All I have right now is the pictures from when it first came into work:

So there you go, you can see the original damage in the photo's was an easy fix. Next on the agenda is to give it a FULL service, completely change and bleed the brakes and fit the exhaust so it will hopefully pass an MOT. Any comments welcome Very Happy

Nice to see that you're saving it from being scrapped as they're great cars. Looking forward to future updates

Best thing you can do is remove weight before you start messing about with the engine.
The front seats are 21kg's each. The rear bench are 25kg.
That's a good start Wink

Cheers guys, just purchased a new battery for her as the old one doesn't keep charge (not surprising after 2 years of sitting still) so when I pull her out the garage to fit it I shall snap some fresh pics
