DAB radio and a couple of other bits

#1: DAB radio and a couple of other bits Author: GSXR0CHRIS PostPosted: Thu Aug 04, 2016 8:25 am
    ----
Hey guys just signed up as you all seem a knowledgeable bunch.

Just bought a 1.6 quicksilver 206 on a 2005 plate to get me through the winter. I want to wire up a DAB radio (absolute radio ftw) and fix a few little bits. How easy is it to wire up the DAB? Any things I should be aware of?

Also it needs the little strip on the boot just above the numberplate. Asked around at a couple of scrap yards and they have one. Is it easy to get off and put the new one on?

Also it could do with another key as it only has one. Do I have to go to Peugeot for it?

Cheers in advance GSX

You can add on a DAB unit to the factory radio - this is the route I went.

Lauren Laverne & BBC 6 music FTW.

How do you do that if I may ask?

Two nuts fairly centrally (on the inside, under the cover that is only clipped on) and 2 plastic clips towards the ends, see linked image

I fitted an AutoDAB Connect unit, I also upgraded the roof aerial to an active DAB / FM spec.

The little storage hole in the dash was a perfect fit for the control unit.

Did you use an aerial like this, MrBSI?

(Apologies for hijacking thread, am just wondering as I am going to upgrade to DAB at some point too... Planet Rock for the win.)

I used this one as I have a front mounted roof aerial.

This one fits perfectly in the factory roof aerial holes, I connected the aerial amplifier wire to the back of the switched ignition supply to the factory radio via an inline fuse.
