Tachometer problem
-> 206 Problems

I bought this car with tachometer already working bad. It lays below 0 when driving on constant speed and it rises and drops while reving.
What can the problem be?

(How do I use anyway?)

Either the plastic needle is loose on the metal shaft OR the drive motor for the gauge is knackered.

Both are common issues with these non plexed instrument clusters.

If it's the needle, will I only need tighten it up; no parts needed?
If it's the drive motor, does it fit from any other 206 cluster?

What about changing whole cluster, does it need programing to work? Is white one is a bolt-on?

I remember Pez replacing a multiplexed cluster with another multiplexed one, that in addition had oil temp gauge. Everything worked out of the box, only the oil gauge had to have a switch flicked via PP2000.

So as long as you find another preplexed cluster, it should start up, no matter the dials' colour.

You might as well tinker with the illumination colour once you're at it Cool
