#1: Brembo Brake Discs & Pads - Information/validation required Author: pAvax, Location: Essex PostPosted: Mon Sep 12, 2016 12:14 pm
    ----
Hello there!

Looking into putting Brembo Max discs and Brembo pads underneath my car.

I have a 51 plate Peugeot 206 CC (2.0 S16 (100 kW)).

But I have a few questions, as I am getting slightly confused...

1) First the validation... I take it these items will fit?

Rear discs:
www.bremboparts.com/eu...08-5334-75

Rear pads:
www.bremboparts.com/eu...d/P_61_032

I take it these will fit and is a 1:1 replacement from OEM products?

2) Will I need the fitting kit?
www.bremboparts.com/eu...y/A_02_215

3) There seem to be two front discs I can choose from. Which one would be the 1:1?
Thickness 20.5: www.bremboparts.com/eu...09-4987-76
Thickness 22: www.bremboparts.com/eu...09-8695-75

4) And finally the front pads... There is a whole array and this is where I am most confused!
Vehicle information -> 8777 : www.bremboparts.com/eu...d/P_61_102
Vehicle information 8778 -> 9078 : www.bremboparts.com/eu...d/P_61_067
Vehicle information 9079 -> : www.bremboparts.com/eu...d/P_61_066

Sorry for the array of questions and links... It's just that I'd like to order the right stuff, instead of being disappointed upon arrival and when the car is apart Smile

(Edit: I got all the information from: www.bremboparts.com/eu...0014399-1, which should be my car...)

Look on Peugeot Service Box to see which one of the two different front brake options your car rolled out the factory.

The pads required will correspond to the discs.

The rear discs & pads are the same across the 206 range.

Cheers!

Anyone got access to it? I got my VIN.

Shoot me your VIN over PM, we'll see.
Also cross-check with brakesint.com -- they have detailed diagrams too for everyday pads; so you can know your dimensions and visual appearance of pads and clips for good.

I'm pretty confident any CC will have the thicker discs.

Hey Sim,
Nevermind! Can disregard the message... I just remembered that I have a company myself. So I registered for the Box Smile

As often, you are 100% right Edward. Double checked them.
OEM: 00004246W7

Looks like on 2.0 CC they replaced 20.4mm ones with 22mm thicker ones from RPO 09079 onward.

The rear (as MrBSI said, no differences there):

How would I know the RPO?!

I am quite a novice with this tool (service box).

Big question is: will thicker fit in either way?

RPO number is on the white information sticker stuck on the B pillar OR Service Box lists it under characteristics.

What I got so far... If anyone could

Front Discs:
Thickness of 22mm:
- Based on part number: 4249G1 (superseding 4246W7, 20.5mm)

Front Pads:
- Based on part number: 425276

Rear Discs:
- Based on part number: 4246G6

Rear Pads:
- Based on part number: 425271

Pad fitting kit:
- Not sure if this is needed, I can always return it to our friends at Amazon...

Going to order them soon, as my dad is over in the country 2nd weekend of October, so we can fit everything nicely with the help of a mechanic. Reason I wanted to get the pad fitting kit, whilst it is unlikely I need it, is that I do not want to be in the situation where I cannot fit the pads with my dad because I didn't want the hassle of returning this.

Thanks for all your help! Hopefully the 22mm front discs will fit Smile

Thank you Mr. BSI!

Found it, exactly where you said... and I got 09083... So should be all good!

Hoozah!

More things I should know about the Service Box? Smile

If you got your VIN, it already has the RPO within; so servicebox select the right set. If you choose vehicle specs manually instead, you'll be presented with all options by RPO ranges throughout its making.

I never used pads fitting kit, probably would've saved me a bit of wrestle; but if you're changing rear disks, you'll need caliper winding tool.

Got the winding tool already. Also getting a torque wrench and whatnot.

May as well bleed the system with my dad and redo the fluid... Smile

Wind back tool doesn't work on 206 rear calipers. Just use a fat screwdriver.
