#1: My Peugeot 206 2.0 HDI D Turbo (2001) China Blue Project Author: GhostZ, Posted: Wed Nov 23, 2016 8:52 pm ---- Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum but thought the best way to start would be share my 206 Project with you all. Please be nice and offer opinions and ideas!
So back in 2015 (Before I had my license) I found someone selling a 206 2.0 HDI for £320, No MOT... So I messaged him and managed to get it for £250.
From that day it sat on my drive until a month ago when I finally passed my test. The car ran and drove very well but... It failed its MOT due to rusted brake lines. So after replacing those it passed! I also replaced the disks and pads to be safe I must say the driving experience is amazing and I love going out for a drive!
I now believe its time to begin the project, I have seen so many 206's that look awesome and it's now time mine becomes one too!
My list of immediate Visual changes!
☑ Change the horrible gear stick the old owner fitted.
☐ Colour code all the bumper trim, Door trim and other trim.
☑ Get some nice floor matts (it's the little bits that count)
☐ Replace the rusted aerial with a new one.
☐ Replace the front and Rear lights with M3 Dark lights.
☐ Fit some moulded mud guards.
☐ Buy and fit GTI Spoiler.
Any other suggestions? I will post pics ASAP
Things that need doing over time
☐ Replace the dying Clutch & release bearing with a new one before remapping.
☐ Get the beast remapped Stage 1.
☐ Replace OEM Exhaust system (Any ideas?)
These lists will probably get longer and longer and longer
So the first thing I have done is got my amazing wife to buy me a new front and rear bumpers which came with colour coded (EGE) trim for my birthday. Got those fitted and now it looks much better.
Next step is to wait for my Christmas presents as I have a whole list of bits to get fitted. I will upload pics as I go along.
One last thing! MY WINDSCREEN WIPER LINKAGE SNAPPED IN TWO!!! No idea how it happened. Long story short. Torrential rain + Max speed wipers = me driving extremely slow hanging out of my window!
So on Friday I will be getting that swapped (Fingers crossed for no rain) Last edited by GhostZ on Thu Nov 24, 2016 7:43 pm; edited 1 time in total

Thankfully not the GTI bumpers (and luckily they are rare... They have a massive overbite and a**e hanging out, as the car needed to increase in length for motorsports. It is a clear case of functional design vs aesthetic design!).
The car looks really clean! I like it

Is yours still pre-plexed? Check my HDi build thread in the signature for ideas (or you already have judging from the checkbox icons )
I'm planning a close/open exhaust system switch amongst others (not in the thread yet)
..aand P.S.: she's a keeper

Hey pAvax! Thanks for the welcome
I certainly wouldn't go for the Rally bumpers. Personally think that they look terrible. I have an SP grille in the shed but I think im going for the honeycombe instead.

Sim! I was browsing through your thread yesterday. You have done an amazing job on Jude!
I believe she is still Pre-Plexed. Don't think it was much longer after she was built they switched though, I guess I am lucky!
Sticking to visual mods for now until I can afford to get the clutch swapped out and remapped.
I will have to keep an eye out and borrow some ideas
Certainly a keeper though, such an amazing little car to drive!

These old Rally bumpers are the GTI's as far I know
But good to hear! I carry the SP grills (mesh, bonnet and lower grill) and love them! While I have a soft spot for the honeycomb, nothing beats the mesh for me
In time I would fancy a WRC inspired bodykit (an affordable replica version of the Dimma kit). That one is sweet! Looks a lot better than this 'thing' they made to get a few inches.
Bit like this:
But just like always, there are more important things to sort out of course.
Mind you, am keen to see the developments and updates on this car. Such a gorgeous start you have!

is your radio stalk fat and big, or thin? If thin, pre-plex. If fat, not.

I was looking at some beautiful bodykits the other day. They priced around £300 which is a great price but the costs to get them sprayed and fitted correctly will be crazy. I do have the SP arches to fit too but they need a respray as they are scratched!
Thats the thing.. I want to get the engine and bad mechanical bit put right before looks just incase something comes up thats just too expensive.
The stalk is thin, so I guess she's pre plex as i thought

I'm sure I will have some questions for you in the near future. As you said its nice to see someone with a project of around the same year and engine.
Contemplating decat but not sure which way to go about it for the MOT. Drill out my cat or get a proper pipe fitted.
Have to replace my front wiper linkage later, ill post some pics of the damage. They got mangled.

Welcome to the pre-plex crew!
Got photos of the bodies you were looking at?

Pipe instead of cat on a diesel is an official* MOT fail.
You can cut the cat open and smash the guts out, and re-weld it back.
