206 1.4L KFW Cold Start Issue

Hi All,

Spent a lot of time on this forum in the last couple of months but unfortunately no solution yet. . . . hope I'm doing this right as it is my 1st post.

I have a 2006 206 1.4L Petrol (KFW engine, 195,000Km) that has a cold start issue, the outside temperature needs to be maybe less than 5*C and the engine cold. Car starts up fine but for the first 2 minutes of driving if you hit the clutch the engine will drop below idle and cut-out, also when accelerating through the gears the power does not seem linear and maybe a very little bit jumpy. After that everything is normal.

No fault codes showing up.
New Spark Plugs (Bosch Super Plus)
New Air-filter
New battery, I will say the new battery is smaller then the old one but I think its still fine but maybe its not?: Bosch 470A, 52Ah
Temporarily swapped out (and cleaned) ICV for a week and still same issue persisted. Reset adaptations a couple of times over a month.
Compression seems good: 11.7/12.4/12.4/11.7bar
I have lots of recorded diagnostic data files (.acfrs) but sensors all seem to be okay. (not an expert though)
I did see that TU engines of that year have an earthing issue to the ECU which may cause these issues. I have removed the earth cable from the battery-gearbox-chassis and cleaned it, a small number of cores were broke but only maybe 5%, I do not think this is the issue but am going to replace it anyway. I would like to see where the ECU gets its ground and maybe run a cable from battery to that point, I removed the ECU and all cables enter a loom and disappears. Can I just run a cable from the battery to the case of the ECU as its encased in metal?

Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated.

Any help or pointers appreciated! I'm especially interested in tracing the earth to the ECU as this is mentioned as a common problem.
