Swapping out my 1.4 16v for a 1.6 16V in a few weeks. Been informed it’s a straight forward swap, anyone else done it?

Doesn't the 1.4 16v have VVT? The 1.6 doesn't. I suspect there will be more to this than you think.

Yes it does have VVT, far as I’m aware the looms are identica and so is the running gear, the VVT shouldn’t have any effect on it

But your ECU is expecting to have a VVT input but the 1.6 doesn't have one.

Aready got a 1.6 ECU, BSI, immobiliser chips etc Smile I’m more concerned about loom, mounts, box mounts etc.

So far, for what we’re aware...
ECU/BSI/chips need changing, already got.
I need to get a throttle body sensor & cable, thermostat, fluids.
Got the filters already, plus odds & sods like bolts that were lost, powerflex engine mount, etc etc

What I ideally need to know is if the 1.4 16v loom will run the 1.6 16V and if the 1.4 box will work with the 1.6

UPDATE.

2005 ET3J4 to 2006 TU5JP4.
Needed:
ECU / BSI / immobiliser chip. (NOT from a CC)
Engine loom from the TU5JP4
ALL wiring from the Ecu to fusebox to bsi down to the ABS on the rear axle.
Upper engine mount.
Posting process on my main thread. But this is totally doable!
