Just started playing with the gti I bought a few days ago. A few issues but nothing major
• rear brake pipes popped in the clip area
• rad fan is missing
• stereo cables have all been chopped so need reconnecting
• couple of error codes but cleared them to see if they came back and only the rad fan codes are showing
But my biggest issue at the moment is the front seats were sold/part exchanged and all I have is some standard seats out of another 206 without any plugs / wires.
As you can probably guess the airbag light is on so I need a quick fix until I can afford to replace with genuine seats or proper buckets. A proper fix would probably be best as buckets will definitely be going in, when is a different question though.
Any help would be great

The GTI 180 had front, side & curtain airbags fitted.
If you has access to Peugeot Planet you could try & go in to the airbag ECU configuration & tell it the side airbags are ABSENT.
That MAY work but I cannot say for certain as the airbag ECU will see the satellite sensors & curtain airbags connected.
Other then that - replace the airbag ECU for one from a 206 that just has front airbags fitted - You may have to unplug the curtain airbags & satellite sensors from the system.
Shame you never asked this question 2 weeks ago, I've just recycled a pair of 206 airbag ECU's - one of each type.

I thought they would be and this option did seem like a sensible idea but when resistors will cost me less than a few quid to sort out as a temporary fix it seems as though I’ll go for resistors, any chance of knowing what resistance they’d need to be ? Someone mentioned 3.3ohm to me but did want to confirm first before sending a bag out over my head

Thanks bud, I’ve ordered some resistors. Worst case scenario the airbag light stays on because of an incorrect reading. Was hoping someone could stick a multimeter on their seats but had no luck on here or Facebook

Not 100% sure how likely this is (seems unlikely to me, I do want to test on a scrapper though!) but I doubt many people would want to take a chance on their good seats lol.
FWIW you can get a decent selection of resistors from ebay dead cheap, I'd get a load of different low values and just keep changing things round mixing/matching and checking with planet until it says it's happy.

Yes I can see where your coming from, I was very wary of airbag systems until I had a play myself

Yes I can see where your coming from, I was very wary of airbag systems until I had a play myself from what I can gather a multimeter doesn’t send a strong enough amount of power through the system as I’ve tested some steering wheel bags this way but obviously they’re all different.
Then again there must always be power flowing through because issues in resistance is what throws the lights up is it not ? Correct me if I’m wrong (not trying to sound obnoxious but can’t think of any other ways to word it )
I’ve ordered some resistors and will have a play on my next free day and should have planet sorted out pretty soon with thanks to a member on here.
From what I can gather most french airbags measure between 2.0 and 2.4 so I’ll jump in with a 2.0 ohm and work up to 2.4
