How much PAG oil to add with new condenser?

#1: How much PAG oil to add with new condenser? Author: Bordonbert PostPosted: Sun Jul 31, 2022 3:48 pm
    ----
Someone here must have this to mind. I'm replacing the A/C condenser with a new one. The refrigerant was going down due to a small leak but no significant oil has been lost, there are no drips or oily patches showing. I have to add PAG46 oil to the condenser before I fit it an and have it refilled. Can someone just confirm how much should be added?

What I have found so far on Valeo Service is that the 206 should have 135ml of PAG46 oil. CarFromJapan.com says that a condenser replacement requires 1 ounce. Just from the bottles available 8oz=237ml (say 240ml) so 1ounce=30ml as near as dammit.

Quote::
Here is the amount of PAG oil that different AC components require for their smooth operation:

Compressor = 1.4 ounces
Evaporator = 1.5 ounces
Condenser = 1 ounces
Accumulator = 1 ounces
Hoses = 1 ounces

Flushing the entire system is recommended before adding oil or refrigerant. When you are replacing a part, such as a compressor or an accumulator, you should always add the oil that has been lost during the replacement.

However, the total amount of added oil should never exceed the system’s oil capacity. So, when calculating how much PAG oil to add to AC system, always remember to keep the total amount under 4 ounces or whatever the capacity of your car’s AC system is.

Just wanted someone to confirm that this is the correct way to go about it.
